Wilkinson Running Club Saves Seabird.

     The Wilkinson Running Club held their first offcampus event on September 1st.  Wilkinson Elementary students, teachers and parents met at the Ringling Bridge.  While the club was warming up, they saw a seabird with wire wrapped around its neck.   The wire was caught on a rock and the bird was unable to get free. One of our Wilkinson parents ran to his truck and retrieved a knife to cut the bird free.  Our students cheered as they saw the bird ruffle its feathers in freedom and fly off.  Energized by the good deed, our students, parents and teachers ran over the bridge and back for two miles.  Some ventured across twice.  All of the participants look forward to future events and getting fit together.
