You're the Boss

By:

Through our Advisory class students at LOA participated in a ©Facing the Future activity entitled “You’re the Boss”.  Students were first asked to help each other figure out where their clothes were made.  We spent some time discussing the locations of these countries as well as anything else we knew about them.  Students then read an essay outlining the working conditions and labor laws in China.  Students were given the following task: “If you were an executive at a US company that sells clothing sewn in China, what policies would your company require Chinese factories to follow?”  Students made up 2 policy statements regarding labor standards and the environment and also examined the pros and cons of each policy statement.
