Seats and Treats

Fuentes Staff and PTA co-hosted a special Hallowgreen event on Friday October 25th. Staff & PTA members  decorated their lawn chairs focused on a  fall or Halloween theme. All community children were invited to trick or treat around our track where the chairs were set up. Our staff gave out recycled games, toys, pencils, erasers, & stationary that we intercepted from a local store who planned to throw the 6 large boxes of unsold items  into our landfill.  We also provided recycled carnival games that we reworked into spooky spider, bat and pumpkin themes for students to play in the gymnasium. We had a huge turnout, and veryone had a great time with recycled games, and making healthy choices for ourselves and our community. We minimized candy or sugery treats, we walked as a healthy habit, we lessoned overconsumption by using items slated for the landfill, and we recycled materials for our fun carnival games.  Our Fuentes Stars loved going "Hallowgreen!"
