We worked together at the Neelsville Middle School Young Chefs cooking club to make a delicious and easy fruit cobbler.
It’s based on the Southern favorite called the “Cuppa Cuppa Cuppa Cobbler,” but we experimented to make it even better.
The old recipe was one stick of butter, one cup of self-rising flour, one cup of sugar and one cup of milk. We tested the recipe and found we could reduce the butter to half a stick and the sugar to half a cup. We made half the flour white whole wheat flour.
When the cobbler was baking, the kitchen smelled sweet, buttery and fruity. We could hardly wait to taste our healthier homemade dessert!
