Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center Exploration

By:

As a community service activity, our school took a trip to Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center in Cedar Hill Texas.  We worked with the volunteer naturalists and helped with trail maintanence.  Various sections of the trails have become overgrown with the invasive plant species of rye grass and hedge parsley.  Our job was to rid the trails and surrounding areas of these particular species of plants.  After working on this project, we took some time to enjoy a hike along the trails, and then finished our day with a peaceful picnic lunch under the trees.
