Electronics Recycling Program
By:
Every spring Ascension participates in the Cartridges for Kids recycling program. This is an excellent way to raise awareness of the importance of recycling electronics in a safe and earth friendly manner and a great way to raise money for new and updated technology for our computer lab. A list is posted with acceptable recycable items by each classroom door and students are encouraged to bring in items each day between April 10th and May 10th. Each item on the list has a different point value. The class that earns the most points wins a pajama party. This years Spring Cleaning Electronics Recycling Drive was a huge success. Each week Ms. Davis packs up a box to be recycled. Total items that will be recycled in an earth friendly manner and saved from going into local landfills was 721.

Our techology admistor Ms. Brady helps recycle items that do not fit into the fundraiser category. On average Ms. Brady gathers equipment three times a year to be shipped off for recycling. The items are donated to a company that ensures us they will be recycled in an earth friendly manner.
