Solar Fountain Project

Some of Barton's outstanding leaders who are members of our Girl Scout Troop, created a rainwater collection fountain to beautify our library courtyard. The fountain is supplied by harvested rainwater and powered by a solar panel mounted on the roof above it. The project is the first step in creation of a Butterfly Garden and reading area in the courtyard. The emphasis of the project is using clean natural resources that will contribute to a pleasant outdoor classroom and natural space for our students to use. The natural outdoor lighting and the fresh air contribute to the ambiance of the space.

The scouts worked to receive a grant that paid for the supplies for the project. These powerful female leaders also planted flower gardens in front of the school as part of the grant.
