Powerful Towers

Our Barton Bobcats participated in a team building collaborative effort to create structures that could withstand wind, and shifting foundations. The structures were created during and exploration of architectural engineering. Students collaboratively designed the structures then constructed them to see who could build the strongest and tallest structure. The studeents used toothpicks and marshmellows as construction materials. The Class was fun and informative and the discovery opportunity was  welcomed hands on learning and collaborativation.  The real life application and discovery lead to discsussions and investigations into engineering in our world and our nation.
