Certified Wildlife Habitat

Our Garden area has earned the disctinction of becoming a Certified Wildlife Habitat for birds.  If your school or organization is interested in this designation, visit the National Wildlife Federation website www.nwf.org.

The re are four main requirements for the habitat certification.  They  are to provide food(food can be natural sources), to provide water,  provide cover and give wildlife a place to raise young.

The tree and plants we added to our garden along with a bird bath and birdhouses met this requirement.  We did have to pay a small fee and complete a short application but the satisfaction out students feel in knowing they help protect wildlife is truly priceless.  See resulting certification photo here.
