Mile Mondays/Marathon Kids

This is a school wide program headed by our PE teacher Coach Quinn.  The students walk on Mondays and track how far they are walking, with the goal of 26.2 miles.  The goal is to increase students cardiac endurance.  The information can be found at www.marathonkids.org.  You can download the mileage log where students can color in a piece of a circle everytime you run or walk a 1/4 of a mile.  When they have finished coloring each circle you will have gone 26.2 miles.  A WHOLE MARATHON!.  Students run with teachers in their PE class or at home with their families.  We called it "Mile Mondays."  All kids keep a one page Milaege/fuel log supervised by thier teacher or parents that tracks their progress. The registration forms and and all important information to set up this activity are available on the website.  It is a great way to get your kids moving.
