ADS Marathon Kids

Marathon kids is an Austin, Texas-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the motivation, tools, and support so  children throughout the US may live healthier, happier lives.  During the school year, ADS students ran and walked to  complete a marathon! This was done during P.E., Recess, and at home. Along the way, the students tracked their progress and healthy eating habits. 

Students completed some of the walking/running in P.E., with the majority of the walking will take place during recess and at home.  The students had a wonderful time during the kickoff event on 10/5/13, Austin Discovery Students logged in a total of 26.2 miles!!!

The students, families and teachers enjoyed participating in Marathon Kids and will be participating again during the next school year.
