Water for our World

Scott Foreman, founder of Water For Our World headquartered here in Phoenix, spoke with our Girls On TheRun team about both local and global water issues. After his talk, the girls walked/ran laps in their bare feet and carried gallon water jugs. This was done to mimic the children in parts of our world where they cannot go to school, but instead walk miles everyday barefoot just to get drinking water that is usually contaminated. Approximately 20% of our world population does not have a viable water source which accounts for many health issues. In Phoenix alone every year there are over
100 deaths from dehydration.

To help our local community the girls donated a gallon of water for every lap they completed. They also wanted to pursue a school water drive and make an even bigger impact. Mr.Foreman addressed the fact that the local supply of drinking water
for the homeless and home bound is extremely low due to the warm winter. This is a major concern as we head into Arizona's hot summer months.

The girls ran a total of 113 laps and as a result, the GOTR team donated 113 gallons of water to Water for out World as their community outreach program. These 15 amazing girls are strong, positive, kindhearted and ready and eager to make a difference!
