Objectives and TEKS

By:

Objectives: 

1.To create a real world learning experience for students learning about an animal's life cycle.

2. Students investigated questions and answers regarding chick eggs and the chick life cycle.

3. Students used problem solving and critical thinking to design their own egg incubators.

4. Students were to observe living organizisms and part of their life cycle.  Students observed hatching and chick growth in the brooder both live and through a ustream live feed.  

 

5. Students used a grade level twitter handle to tweet out (as a PBL team) their observations and answers to questions from twitter followers.

 

 

Texas Essential Knowledge Skills:

*Science 1.2 The student develops abilities to ask questions and seek answers in classroom and outdoor investigations.

*Science 1.9 The student knows that the living environment is composed of relationships between organisms and the life cycles that occur.

*Science 1.3 The student knows that information and critical thinking are used in scientific problem solving. 

*LA 1.24A gather evidence from available sources (natural and personal) as well as from interviews with local experts
