Butterfly Festival

The Butterfly Festival was a culmination of science learning activities in 2^nd grade which centered around organisms and their life cycle.  The 2^nd graders were able to actually see larvae eat and grow in the classroom, form their cocoons and then turn into beautiful painted ladies.  The 2^nd grade put on a “Butterfly Festival” for the students and parents to share their learning activities.  They had fun making a chrysalis out of paper towel rolls and tissue paper, making multi-colored drawings of butterflies, face painting, and ultimately helping to release the butterflies.  It was an exciting day for everyone.
