Journaling about Plants on Campus

Through observation, first grade students were able to journal about plants around their school and make predictions about their usage, structure, and importance for the environment. Upon completion of the lesson, students were able to answer the question “Why People Need Plants.”  To extend and enrich the lesson, the concept of plants as renewable resources was presented to students.  Students also were able to identify plants that were classified as renewable resources and what products were made from them
