The Academy of Saint Paul hosted the annual Science Fair on Thursday, February 25, 2015. In preparation for the Science Fair, students in grades Pre-K – 8 worked on individual and group projects focusing on the theme: Project STEM. Students used the scientific method to study the natural world and the engineering design process to develop solutions for the future. On the day of the Science Fair, the student body participated in various activities on a rotating schedule.
Activities:
- John Marshall Weather Assembly
- Electricity
- Engineering Design Challenge
- MyPlate Healthy Snacks & Fitness Break
- Science Fair Projects Slide Show
One of the activities focused on nutrition and fitness. Students took a fitness break watching “Move to Learn – Fitness Break” enjoying five minutes of moving in the classroom. The students and teachers learned that even in inclement weather, you can still exercise.
A healthy snack soon followed which included fruits and vegetables matching the colors of the rainbow and activities where they had to complete their plate by following the MyPlate recommendations.
