Island Firefighters

When I grow up, I want to be a firefighter like my Dad. He teaches me about being strong brave and always helping other people.
When we are doing things together he talks about ways we can make the world better. It is good but it could always be better. If we want to be better we have to be safe so I was glad to see a firesafety station at the harbor. This is to help put out fires on boats and help rescue anyone who needs help. I like being around boats so I think this is the kind of firefighter I might be.
Also in Florida they do controlled burns sometimes. This is a fire that is on purpose to help help the forests grow better. I know becuase I smelled smoke and my Dad said it was a controlled burn by the Forest Service.
They use firefighters to keep everything safe. I am going to learn more about this because it sounds like something I might also want to do someday.
