Shadows and Light

Students in First grade were taught that Light is an energy source and learned how sunlight creates shadows.

We took the students outside on a sunny day and had students trace their partners shadow. We then went out later in the day to show them how their shadows were different due to the sun being at a different position during that particular time of day.

We then had the students trace their shadow again, placing their feet in the same spot as the morning.
