Idle Free Initiative

Our Green Team initiated a school-wide Idle Free Campaign. Using the tools on the EPA’s website we sent home letters that explained the campaign and included information on air quality, particularly as it applies to school parking lots during afternoon pick-up. The letters included an Idle-Free pledge for parents and students to sign together and we had permanent signs made for our campus parking lot. We monitored progress in the afternoon and provided positive feedback for cars that turned their engines off.
