On May 12, 2011, kindergarten students went on a field trip to the Outdoor Learning Center.  To further study how students can make a change in their environment, students had a "Save the World" picnic.  The purpose of the activity was to show children how to make a change in the environment by packing items that could be reused and recycled.  The students recycled by using foil and aluminum cans in their lunch boxes and reused by carrying lunch boxes, thermoses, or recyclable cutlery.  Then the classes discussed each item and classified them into recyclable or reusable categories.  Below is the flyer that went out to parents informing them of the activity.
