Monies for wind turbine & k-12 light audit.

Our wind tubine will be partly funded by a donation of $10,000 from the estate of a community member.  We are working with Energy Works Michigan to match the funds and help with installation and implementation to the k-12 curriculum about teaching about wind turbines and our new wind turbine.

Last year the graphic arts students published a coloring book about outdoor/ green opportunities in our town.  We included a school light audit and home and school energy audit in the coloring book. 

This year a group of high school students from global science taught about energy audits to k-8 classrooms and included the school light audit.

On Earth Day we had a district wide black out where we encouraged everyone to keep their lights out and calculate the energy and carbon  savings in their class rooms and school.
