Planting Jack Beans

Students were excited about planting "Jack Beans".  The seeds were to climb the fence line as you entered the campus.  Students planted the seeds and watched the seeds germinate. Unfortunately, depite our efforts (we even had "no mow zone" signs hanging on the fence) the small plants were mowed over.  Students used this as a learning opportunity and have already devised a plan to rope off an area next year to prevent the plants from being mowed again.  Despite the end result - the process was an excellent learning experience, as several of our students had never planted seeds before - but now they are excited to do it again!
