Every Thursday morning and afternoon during announcements one of our 8th grade students reads a green tip for the week. The green tip is also included in our weekly E-news that is sent to all parents.
Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to power a television for four hours.
Recycle your newspaper whenever you can. Each year 10 million tons of newspaper are not recycled, but thrown away in landfills. If we change this habit together, we could save up to 75 million trees.
If just 10 percent of U.S. households attached shut off nozzles to their outdoor hoses, we'd save enough water to fill over 128,000 bathtubs--everyday!
Did you know that we generatean extra million tons of trash each week from Thanksgiving to New Year's? Please do your part and recycle.
We have a bulletin board by our front office to spread green news. Each month a new board will be displayed. Our first board displayed green tips, recycled crafts, and photos of our Pre-K3 students using recycled items for letter formation and counting. Next months board will include green tips for recycling during the holidays.
Every hallway has a green slogan to help remind teachers and students to go green.
