Local Ranch Ships Fruit Around the World

On this field trip, students saw a working ranch and toured the packing house where the fruit is cleaned, packed, and shipped all over the world. We all learned about good bugs and bad bugs and methods farmers were using good bugs to help control the bad bugs. They learned about the importance of solar power, and we saw the solar panels which were placed on several acres of the ranch to power the plant during the daytime. The saw how English sheep grazed the fields to keep the grass down. Students all wrote thank you notes which allowed for reflection of their wonderful trip and p[ositive experiences at the ranch.
