Family Science Night
By:
Our Eco-classes and Eco-teachers organized a family science night and invited various community groups to display and share information with our Fuentes families. We invited the whole community and filled the school with visitors. We learned about native plants and animals, we got to touch bones, fur, feathers, and even some live mammals and reptiles. We learned about water conservation and about what our state is doing to perserve this land we call Texas. Representatives from Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas Department of Transportation, Lower Colorado River Authority, McKinney Roughs Nature Perserve, Guadalupe Blanco River Authority, The Texas Historical Commision, Edwards Aquifer, and The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center shared information and brought great giveaways for all participants. Our Dad's liked the Texas maps the best, but the snakes were a big hit with the students. We all had a great time and look forward to using the water testing kits and the low flow showerheads to do our part to conserve water in our community.
