Fuentes Elementary hosted the first annual Earth Savers Summit on October 25th at the HAYSCISD performing arts center. The evening was an incredible celebration of global citizenship and ecological responsibility. Every student from Fuentes took part in the event! Kindergartners made Recycled Doodle Bugs with a 21st century twist, 1st graders showed off their writing skills accompanied by global art work, 2nd graders made classroom banners with unique hand print globes that included important personal notes about conservation, 3rd graders produced a slide show about how to be powerful global citizens, 4th graders displayed science projects about global issues, 5th graders took part in an Eco-science fair & wrote poetry about ecological responsibility. Every Fuentes star made & displayed incredible artwork out of recycled materials, all 623 students participated in an Earth Saver pen pal project as powerful global citizens with students from Kenya, and finally our entire 5th grade starred in an Eco-musical entitled "Update Earth!"
