Fruit collages for the cafeteria

By:

Students learned the differences between GO, SLOW, and WHOA foods

and discussed ways in which to encourage eating more GO foods, specifically fruit, at breakfast and lunch.

Students chose to create collages of fruits that would be hung up in the cafeteria.

A different fruit was assigned to each grade level. During an enrichment period,

students participated in a relay game where they glued pieces of paper

onto a poster to create a collage.

The one below will become an orange.

The orange begins to take shape.

Students race to complete the collage.

Students waiting for their turn perform different exercises

like jumping jacks, mountain climbers, and spin jumps.

These were hung in our cafeteria to encourage everyone to eat "GO" foods! The students were proud of their work.
